What’s up guys? Devin Zander here in a different place. I probably sound different and look different, and that’s because my, uh, bigger office where the team works is under construction. That’s code for, there’s, there’s like a whole lot of termites in there and it’s disgusting. So the building is fixing that.

And for now I’m in my executive office, which is directly below that office. This is where go to get away from all the annoying people upstairs. Um, and today we’re going to, Continue some conversations that we’ve had in the past around vision, purpose, and how we use these things to enrich ourselves. So let’s get into it.

My name’s Devin Zander. This is the From Delivery Driver to C E O podcast. These are lessons from how you can go from like an every single, every day normal dude. I was a high school dropout, Jimmy John’s delivery driver. Hence the name and how I built a million dollar. Company and became the ceo. O. So if you are an everyday, regular person and you wanna change your life, make a bunch of money doing it, guess what?

You’re in the right place. Let’s get in today’s episode guys. What is this? If you’re watching on video, like what are we supposed to do? I look so silly. The, um, I, I have to be like no room. Usually you guys can see like everything. Now it’s just me up close. But, um, Whatever, let’s just get into it. So I, I wanna talk to you about vision and purpose.

We’ve talked about this a lot already. Um, and maybe today this will put like a nice free little bow tie on it, but I’m, I’m building up leaders within my company. I’m trying to help people get leverage because leverage is the ultimate way to make more money. It’s how you multiply, uh, the rewards that you get from your effort.

And maybe we’ll do an episode on that sometime. But I’ve been coaching a lot of people within our organization because yes, I do believe that my employees should get rich too. I believe they should get wealthy. I’m here to change everybody’s lives. Um, and I, I, I sincerely mean that it’s insane to have this amount of power, um, where if I work hard enough, Not only can I change your life as a viewer, but if I work hard enough, I can change my employees’ lives.

I can make sure that their kids are never hungry, that they have the house, their dreams that they can provide for their wife or husband. It’s absolutely insane. And I want you to realize that you have that power in yourself too. You can change your life, and that’s why I shared these lessons with you on this podcast, is so you can implement them, change your frigging life.

Let’s get into it. Um, so one of the things that I’ve been trying to teach the leaders, uh, or the managers here at SCUP, is how to lead with vision. Now, we’ve talked about this on prior episodes, that if you do not have vision, Then it is very hard to succeed. You need to understand clearly exactly what your goal is, what you want to achieve.

You can’t just say like, oh, dude, I want to be rich. Right? Like, that’s not enough. Why? Why do you want that? What do you wanna unlock? Is it a house? If so, what does the house look like? What’s it smell like inside? Right? Like, who’s in there? What, whoever’s in there, what are they doing? You know, th this is what vision is.

And then a vision for your family. A vision for yourself. A vision for how you wanna spend your days for like, how much money do you want and why do you want it, right? Like we said, so. The thing is, is that we need vision. Okay? And I’m not gonna talk about that cuz we’ve already talked about it on past episodes.

But what I want to give you today is a lesson on how you can use that vision to keep yourself accountable and kick your ass. You know what I’m fucking saying? Hell yeah. Um, so, When we have a vision, we, we have a pretty good idea of the amount of work it will take to require that. How do we do that? Well, it’s really easy.

First of all, we decide when do we want that vision to become a reality? Okay? So if you have this idea for like this grand house, this amazing cars, uh, or just like a really simple life where you don’t have to worry about bills and you wanna do whatever the fuck you want, whenever you want, right? When do you want that by?

Is it six months from now? Do you want it 12 months from now? Do you want it two years from now? Right? Like what’s your timeline? And then you just work backwards from there. Okay? Do this exercise. I want you to write this down. Okay. To achieve my goals, I must first visualize them clearly and then reverse engineer them.

That’s what I want you to do. So you got your goal, you know when you want to hit it. Okay, now you need to reverse engineer that. So if you say I want to be, uh, worth $1 million 24 months from now. You get a pretty good idea of how much money you need to make every single month, right? It’s about $400,000 every month, so boom.

Now you know I need to make $400,000 a month. How do you use that? Okay. How do you use that? Wait, $400,000 a month. Sorry. $40,000 a month. I don’t know why I said 400,000 people are listening though. They’re like, uh, this guy’s really bad at math. I’m turning off the episode right now. Boom. Gone buch. Uh, yeah.

$400,000 a month is how you get one of these guys right here, which is $10 million. Eh, eh, eh, let’s go. Wait. No, it’s not. I’m like confused. Yeah, that’s right. Boom. Okay, cool. That’s how you’d get one of these guys in two years. Um, okay, so we understand. On a basic level how much we need to make per month, right?

Which is $40,000. If you wanted to make a million dollars profit in um, two years. Now we can break it down even more. Let’s keep reverse engineering. That means you need to make how much per week? Hmm? $10,000 per week. Cuz on average a month is four weeks, right? It’s like four point something weeks. So you need to make $10,000 a week now.

Then you break it down really granularly. All right, so now this one I, I need to get a calculator out for, cause I’m stupid. So 10,000 divided by seven. So on average we need to make $1,428 per day. Okay, now we’re getting somewhere. So how do you use this? It’s great to know that number right now. You know it and you have a, a metric that you can track and you can grade yourself on.

But the way that you use this is, Now you can kind of get an idea of the workload that needs to be done to achieve those numbers. It’s a really simple grading system. What you do is you keep track of, get like a little planner. Okay? Uh, I don’t have any, I was gonna show you guys a planner. I don’t have one near me.

Get a little planner. Okay. And I want you to journal every single time you do something, it doesn’t matter what it is, just track like three different days. What do you do? How long do you do it? So if it’s like, well, uh, I ate lunch, right? Okay, well, 12, 12 30 to 1257, I ate lunch. After that, I checked my email.

So from 1257 to 1 0 3, I checked my email and listen, I know this doesn’t sound fun before you’re like, oh, I don’t wanna fucking do that. Listen. You wanna make a bunch of money, if you wanna change your life, you, you don’t have to do it. But the people who are willing to do this, those are the people who are dedicated to changing their lives.

Those are the people who will achieve it. Okay? Uh, making a lot of money. It’s not gonna magically happen. You have to do these types of things. Um, So, okay. So you start cataloging, you start writing down everything that you do in a day. And you don’t have to do this for a long time. So like, before you get stressed out and you’re like, I don’t wanna do this.

Like I said, do it three days. You, you don’t have to do it forever. Right. And, um, let’s say you work, how many hours do you work per day? Right. Uh, let’s get that calendar. So we have the 1004 and 28. That’s how much money we need to make per day. And let’s just say that you, um, work eight hours a day, which is an average workday, which means you need to make $178 per hour.

If you want to make $40,000 a month, you need to be making $178 an hour over that eight hours that you were okay. So track those eight hours. Write down every single thing that you do, and now, Something magic’s gonna happen. You’ll, you’ll have an idea of where you spent your time. I know it’s magic, but what you can do is you’re like, okay, I need to make $178 an hour.

I wrote down everything that I did during these eight hours. Which one of these tasks, like which tasks here are $178 an hour tasks? Because I’ll tell you what, check in your email, not a $178 an hour tax task. Scrolling Facebook, not $178 an hour task, right? What are the leverage points? What are the tasks that are actually valuable?

You need to audit your time and ensure you get rid of all those tasks that are not $178 an hour tasks. And you might be saying, well, no, but then I’ll be so bored. I won’t have any fun, dude. I mean, it’s called Work for a reason. It’s work. You have two choices. You can work for yourself and make a bunch of fucking money.

Because you’re gonna have to work, you’re, you’re gonna have to work no matter what. There’s no way around it. You either work for yourself or you work for someone else. You know what I’m saying? So you can work for yourself. Put in the time now, make a bunch of money. Or alternatively, you just go work eight hours a day at a job.

I don’t know, fucking slinging sandwiches like I used to do. I was a Jimmy John’s delivery driver. How much money? I made an hour fucking. Basically this much paid me like $4 an, I mean, this was forever ago, so I don’t really remember. I was like 14 years ago, but they paid me, I believe, like $4 an hour and then I got tips.

So it’s like, dude it, so wait, you’re telling me that I can just come here on my computer and spend time like researching products, launching ads, and doing conversion rate optimization? Uh, writing email campaigns and SMS campaigns, and I get paid $178 an hour. Like, fuck yeah, I’ll do that instead. And that is what you need to do.

Okay, so let’s rework the process. Let’s go through it a little bit again. First thing you need to do is you need to get that clear vision. We’ve already talked about that on a few different episodes because I believe it’s important. Okay? You got your vision. And you know how much money it’s gonna take to, to get that right.

You need to know exactly how much money. And remember, vision isn’t about money. It’s about what money unlocks for you in your life. Um, so you need to understand your vision, and then you need to get a good idea of the amount of money it’ll take to get that. And then you need the time period that you want to achieve it in.

Then you reverse engineer it. Okay, so if you want it in a year, divide it by 12, then divide it by four, and then divide it by how many hours you’re working a day. Now you know how much money you need to make per hour, and then you audit your time, see what you’re doing, where you’re spending your time while you’re working, and get rid of anything that isn’t up to that level.

Okay? If it’s not a $178 an hour task, like in this example, you gotta get rid of it. That’s how much your time’s worth. Maybe not yet, but that’s the goal to get there. Anything else that’s not that huge leverage task, the thing that’s getting you there. You, you gotta find a way to outsource it as soon as possible.

I know it’s not easy when you’re getting started, but this is how it’s gotta be. Um. All right guys. This is it from Delivery Driver to CEO e o, uh, where we’re taking everyday people changing their lives and helping them become millionaires and firing their boss.
